The International
Training Center
The International Training Center and Golf Course of Ilbarritz has officially been inaugurated in 1988, year of the Biarritz le Phare’s Golf Course centenary. Placed on an exceptional site, this unusual concept has been created by the architect Pierre THEVENIN.
The various workstations of the Training Center allow complete training according to your desires or weaknesses. From the short game to full swing, on synthetic carpets or perfect grass, on flat or hilly lies, here, everything is conceived to work out every single aspect of the game.
This spot is the place to be for high level players, but it’s also ideal to make the first steps for beginners.

Description of Studio No.2
This studio is equipped with 13 indoor spaces, which will accommodate you in bad weather or intense heat. Here you’ll find a ball dispenser and very high-quality mats, which will help you avoid injury when hitting the ground.
Added bonus: this shelter is closest to the clubhouse.
It also contains a coaching studio (a new feature introduced in June 2018).
Ideally situated, the coaching studio is a 35m² box equipped with two indoor practice spaces, a big TV screen and 4 armchairs.
These facilities make it possible to carry out a very precise analysis in optimal conditions of the players’ swing thanks in particular to the latest iteration of the Trackman IV system. Furthermore, it’s a secure box which can be used year-round.
“We use it on a very regular basis and our students are blown away by it!”
Added bonus: this box is in another league to the training boxes on the European Tour.
Description of Studio No.5
Kissing the ocean, this studio will enable you to hit on grass. It’s perfect for medium and long irons as well as woods.
The wind is often favourable.
Added bonus : by playing from the rough flanking the studio, you can get in some training with balls lower than foot level for right-handers and higher than foot level for left-handers.
Description of Studio No.10
Studio 10 is a zone with three target greens. It’s ideal for working on half shots with the SW, the PW and the 9-iron. As you’re often punching into the wind, conditions are such that you can also work on punched shots and low balls.
You have a ball dispenser nearby
Added bonus: with this practice game, you can work on all your shots from 0 to 100m of the green because, just a few metres away, you have two wonderful chipping greens to round off your training in style.
Description of Studio No.12
Enjoying a fabulous view across the whole training centre and the ocean, studio 12 is perfect for hitting fairway woods and drivers. You have over 300m to set the ball down. You often find yourself punching into the wind in this zone.
You have a ball dispenser nearby.
Added bonus : you’ll frequently come across very good players as well as professionals who love this spot!
Short Game Center
Open since 8 June 2012, the Short Game Centre enables amateur and professional players, supported by a teacher, to use a zone reserved exclusively for them.
Here you’ll find:
- 1 x 95 m² artificial putting green
- 1 x 329 m² natural putting green
- 1 chipping green enabling shots of up to 70 m accessible from various teeing off positions, sand and grass bunkers, as well as areas of rough.
Open year-round, the Short Game Centre provides exceptional training conditions even in bad weather.
A ‘small clubhouse’ completes these facilities with a TV screen to show training videos, a changing room, as well as a mini bar and coffee machine.

Trackman
The Trackman has been steadily evolving in recent years and today a player can analyse every shot from 1.5 to 400 yards.
FORCE PLATES
To practise and measure how you use the ground, using the force plates is key. They enable you to see what cannot be seen on video: centre of pressure, lateral distribution, transfer, vertical force… both in a static and also a dynamic position.
